French 8 day striking mantel clock circa 1880

A good and large French gilt mantel clock, the case cast with a courting couple, possibly a gentleman Gardner or musician and his companion. The eight day movement striking the hours and half hours on a bell with a lovely mellow chime, makers mark Bally, numbered 1069 on the movement and the bezel. This clock has been recently re-gilded and cleaned. Ht 40, W 45, D 14cms.
