19th ct 8 day striking mantel clock , circa 1875


A most elegant 19th century 8 day striking mantel clock, circa 1875. The JAPY Freres 8 day movement striking the hours and half hours on a bell, which gives a lovely mellow chime. The gilt neo classical case surmounted with an urn over a dial with Roman numerals, flanked by maidens, the case inset with floral porcelain plaques. The clock is supplied with a key, pendulum and the original glass dome. Ht 36, W 42, D 14 cms.
