Palais Royal jewellery box in the form of a miniature piano

A most t interesting and decorative Palais Royale jewellery/bijouterie box, the hinged lid opening to a compartment with a cylinder musical box, which plays two aires. These collectors pieces were purchased in Paris during the late Victorian period, some fitted with sewing or needlework accessories or compartments for jewellery or small bijou pieces. The music box is key wound and comes complete with a key. Ht 14.5, W 29, D 19 cms.
