The Sacred alliance, a most unusual and rare timepiece, circa 1815 depicting the three monarchs. Alexander the 1st, Russian czar, Francis the 1st the first emperor of Russia and Frederick William the third king of Prussia. The movement indicates that it has not been in use for some time and appears as such in the attached image. The sacred alliance was founded on September 26, 1815, therefore the timepiece would have been made around that time to commemorate this significant alliance. Ht 21, W 16.5 cms
