Victorian telescopic standard lamp circa 1880

£650.00

A substantial good and large brass standard lamp. This model is one of the top grade examples and would have been made for the finest of homes, originally it would’ve been an oil lamp which still extends up to 7 foot high in order to illuminate the whole room. Generally these were converted to electricity during the Edwardian to 1920 period. The base is weighted and extremely heavily designed to stop the oil lamp tipping over in the event of an accident. The lamp will be delivered completely rewired with braided cord and a PAT safety certificate, to fit into a modern home. All lamps are sold ex-shades. Ht 150 cms
