A 19th-century Coromandel, correspondence box of exceptional quality.

The hinged lid opening to a tooled leather writing slope, which opens to a well with a hidden spring concealing, three secret drawers. This is an outstanding piece and would have been made for a high ranking officer or colonial administrator.
